Really good result and this time we actually got what we deserved.

Difficult conditions but in a way we weren't expecting, swirling diagonal wind and hard pitch although the surface was excellent.

We lost Cameron Palin through a recurrance of a back injury during the warm-up leaving us with a striker and goalkeeper on the bench.

Great finish after a lovely build-up saw Aaron Bicknell open the scoring for us. We played against the wind during the first half and went in a goal to the good and playing well.

They put us under pressure for the first 10 minutes of the second period but having weathered the storm and created a number of fine opportunities their keeper kept us at bay with a string of fine saves..

About 15 minutes from time they had a man sent off for two yellow cards, one a horrible high challenge on Luke Appleton and one that saw him walk for diving in the box to try and win a penalty. Then we somehow let them back in the game and they scored to make it 1-1. We almost immediately took the lead again with an 18 yard looping header from Luke Rigby and another long range effort from Bicknell.

Back came Oxfordshire and their winger whipped in a cross that Patrick Rushton was forced into heading but sadly past Richard Pennington for an own goal.

We finally put the game beyond them when debutant Lewis Young outpaced their defenders, drew the keeper and calmly waltzed round him and passed the ball into an empty net for the coolest of finishes.

Great team performance all round. Sam Cooper made his debut as well and lead the line in fine style doing everything we could have asked of him, and with 9 players now available for next year the season doesn't feel so bad after all.

My grateful thanks to all the players for their hard work and commitment this season as well as Ashley Tallon, James Ross and Mac MacKenzie for their support and wise heads! Also to the officers of the CCFA who have always backed us in everything we've wanted to do.

Thought their sustitution of goalkeepers worked in our favour. The reserve 'keeper was at fault for our 2nd and 3rd goals by being to far off his line. Lewis Young [ Millbrook U18's & Plymouth Parkway } took his goal superbly well, one on one with the 'keeper.

I thought also that the height and strength of Sam Cooper in attack, was very evident.
