Guest
HEANEY FOR ARGYLE? What do you think He has always had an interest in joining the Argyle board after all he has more money than them BUT IS IT HE!!!!!!! I was not to sure where to put this posting so I will leave it to the Administrators to decide This was spotted on http://www.plymouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=90722 Its a site called Vitalfootball.co.uk and is Vital Plymouth Argyle. It says Plymouth Argyle are close to appointing a new director to the Home Park boardroom. Plymouth Vital understands that talks are well underway with the UK businessman who has amassed a £150 million fortune. The property entrepreneur has a home in Europe but has very close links to the South West area and could bring much needed investment to Plymouth Argyle. A source in Europe has revealed to Plymouth Vital that the businessman, who we will not name just yet, is keen to get involved with the Pilgrims and talks are ongoing and should be completed very soon. Directors Nic Warren and Damon Lenszner left the boardroom earlier this year leaving just four directors at the club in chairman Paul Stapleton, Robert Dennerly, Phill Gill and Tony Wrathall. Stapleton recently admitted that the directors were looking to increase the size of the board, he said: 'There is always room around the table for other people. There are commitments financially in being on the board, but it's not a closed shop. 'We haven't put an advert out to say 'Is anybody going to come to our football club and help us?' But we do get phone calls now and again from people asking if we are interested. 'We are not averse to looking at all avenues which will help this football club.' Last year the Argyle board turned down a £5 million offer of investment from a consortium made up of wealthy Argyle fans. The consortium wanted seats on the board in return for the £5 million funding with the agreement that more cash might become available. With Argyle looking for a new manager and a new wealthy director set to join the club then these are turbulent but exciting times for Argyle fans. Graham Martin
I have met Mr Heaney several times and he is one of the nicest blokes you could wish to meet. Why would he wish to invest in Argyle when he has made his intentions perfectly clear at Truro City - In 6 or 7 years time TCFC will be rivalling Argyle as the South Wests Top Team..!! Paul
So Argyle have had a few poor crowds this season, but when Truro can take 4,000 fans to Reading and 2500 to Sheff Wed on a tuesday night they can call themselves well supported!! Truro, in say 5 years, even if they win promotion after promotion will still only get 1500 gates, maybe a few more but I doubt it. Just face it, youll never get close to Argyle....NEVER!!
