Bumdingo
Royal Par 1 Carlyon Arms 4 Royal Par invited as an invitational team into the Cornwall Sunday Combined Football League cups along with Truro Community. Spirited performance going down 4-1 at home to one of the strongest teams in Sunday Football 4-1 at home, rules allowed us to field any age group though we went with 7-8 players that serve us most matches. Sandy possibly used the game as a good warm up for their Sunday Cup tie next weekend having had 2 weeks off yet we restricted them to just 4 despite being on the back foot for most of the 90 minutes. The new Sunday league combines both East and West clubs though cups are kept separate. Be good to know if any Vets clubs would be interested in playing in the East cups next season? Cameron Hague
The difference is as follows: In the Veterans league, you're allowed 5 players under 40 out of the 16 man squad and all players must be over 35. In the Sunday League Cups, there is no restriction as it is standard adult football. What we've found at Royal Par is that most players have already signed for a Sunday League team, in which case they become cup-tied. The problem then becomes attracting players under 35 that are happy to play potentially only three Sunday Cup games all season (two cups and the supplementary cup if you're knocked out early on) with a bunch of old farts. Therefore you actually find that you play your games with most of your Vets players. So far we've played Truro Community and beaten them 14-4 and we just lost 1-4 to Carlyon Arms. We were unfortunate to be drawn against Carlyon Arms in the other cup as well, so we have to play them one more time at Par Track on 4th December. It's been much more fun than we anticipated and has also been a welcome competitive match day when Vets games are weeks apart due to postponements etc.

No. That is a cup competition that is part of the Veterans league format. All players in any Veterans competition needs to be over 35. The cup competitions that we are talking about are part of the Combined Sunday League which is open age.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up, much obliged!
