John Mead
1. As the two Step 7 Leagues are not "Supply Leagues" for Referees (National F.A. Referees Dept. decision) they have no right to more than one appointed Match Official. The F.A., as well as Cornwall & Devon County F.A's have all agreed that three Match Officials can be appointed IF there are spare Referees after ALL other matches have been allocated a Referee. Given the shortage of Referees, the current situation is unlikely to change in the forseeable future and there is nothing the SWPL can do about it - other than encourage Clubs to help with Referee recruitment. 2. The "disparity" between the disciplinary procedures of the Step 6 & Step 7 divisions is again something outside of the control of the SWPL and is dictated by F.A. Rules - not League or County Rules. There is no reason why such issues should not be debated - as long as people realise that some things cannot be changed and that individual League Officers are not responsible for making the Rules. Home Waters
There is a difference to having your say, which I applaud him for and not accepting rules which have been explained to him on numerous occassions. There is no bigger supporter of free speech than me, but if your seeking advice to a problem, rules are pointed out, which cannot be changed locally, then you should accept that it is fact.
