New Forest
Lanreath 2 4 Wadebridge Town A hard fought win for the Bridger's First half goals from Tom Wood, a great strike & a neat finish from Lee Bateman ( his first for some years by the way he celebrated!!) but we gave Lanreath 2 cheap goals to keep them in the game. H/T 2-2 Not a great performance in the second half but we managed to score 2 more. The first after good work in the box from Andy Harris followed by a quality finish. Then the icing on the cake came in the last few minutes after a good run and cross from the left by Andy Harris, Martyn Murt was on hand to prod the ball past the home keeper. Thanks to Lanreath a nice warm welcome and friendly banter on the touch line.
Guest the_wet_otter
St Blazey 2 st dennis 1 another win for the greens. A well deserved three points today against a st dennis side that included a couple ringers from foxhole!! We on the other hand had no first team lads, just the usual suspects!! First half was very scrappy and a tough battle, but we went in at half time comfortable and two goals to the good!! After the break st dennis came back at us andhad a number of half chances but to be honest nothing clear cut!! The rickard brothers didn't have much joy as neil burton and dave lowry marshalled the defence from start to finish our game plan certainly worked today, stop the supply line to the deadly strikeforce and we knew we would win the game!! Fair play to st dennis they took defeat well, and good luck with the rest of the season!!
L.Ricks 10
Blazey certainly deserved the 3points today. We just weren't up to scratch. And as for ringers, we had none in today so not sure were uve heard that from wet otter. Still plenty of games in hand which would take us 8points clear if we won them but a long way to go yet, gotta start bucking up if were gunna keep on course for the league. gas on tour
No ringers in for us today, we had the chance to plat boaty but he went with the reserves. Fair play to St Blazey, they thoroughly deserved their win today, really hope it serves as a wake up call to our squad and make them realise they have to work for every point. Probably makes the run in to the end of the season more interesting though!!
Guest the_wet_otter
Doesn't warney play for foxhole!? Like yourselfs we had opportunitys to bring in first teamers but opted not too. It's unfair on the lads who have worked hard all season to be dropped in the big games. Who have you got left to play in the top half!? We have a massive game against edgcumbe, and elburton twice! I think you lads are still in the best position, games in hand and can go 8points clear. The only thing with games in hand is that you'll have alot of mid week games to play, and other teams tend to get lots of ringers turning out, so that could be an obstacle you come up against! As for our lads, not the best footballers you'll ever see, average players who all work hard for eachother. On a brilliant run at the minute and have to keep it going to get promotion!!! Two of our lads girlfriends are due to drop this weekend, and as a token gesture they're going to name their babys karl and lee after the deadly st dennis strike duo......hopefully the babys won't moan as much at the ref though. Haha! Good luck for the season guys, enjoy it, from all at st Blazey
L.Ricks 10
No Warney signed start of the season for us after leaving st Austell. I'm positive we will bounce back after Saturday and start to put a run of wins backtogether. The lads seem to have lost alot of confidence since the villa game but with Whettsy and ben Douglas signed and both ok for our game next Saturday things can only be looking up for us. 2 great signings which will undoubtably improve our side. Plenty of games left yet and like u said wet otter, were still in the best posission with our games in hand but these are all games we can't take anything less the 3 points from. As for teams left to play, we only now have polperro at home which is the 2nd to last game of the season. And edgcumbe home. But will still have all the bottom sides to play twice. Cally, nanpean and st columb major. Should be and interesting run in but and confident in the squad. Good luck to st blazey for the remainder of the season, great bunch of lads and hope u push all the way for promotion.
Percy Smollett
St Dennis should still win it as all the other teams battling for 2nd place all have to play each other to a degree and will in view of that drop more points. But who will it be? St Stephens Borough St Blazey Polperro Edgcumbe or can Elburton Villa make a late charge?
