Witheridge v Torpoint

Recommended Posts

Drove 'just' the 65 miles from Dobwalls to Withy. Arrived and to be fair, although raining it was nowhere near as heavy as it was at home earlier. Pitch was being forked and, to the ref's credit at

2-15 , said he'd give it a go. Five minutes later the heavier rain we'd had further west for much of the morning arrived at Edge Down and the ref then had no alternative but to change his mind.

So got home a couple of hours earlier. Now please Phil H, not a Tuesday night in January!

:SM_carton: Match referee then put it out - a bit unfair on Torpoint don't you think. :SM_carton:

before making a statement home waters get the facts

the match referee was prepared to let the game go ahead at 2.15pm then the heavens opened and unfortunately he had no other option to call the game off.

Comments like yours make it sound like we had Torpoint travel up for no reason knowing the pitch wasnt playable when at 2.15pm as stated IT WAS.

You can make it sound what ever you want it to - of course I know teams do NOT do that - but I still think its unfair on Torpoint at the end of the day. or if you like, substitute the word 'unfair' for, dissapointing or wasted journey, unecessary, upsetting and so and so forth.
