INEPT DISPLAY BY SENNEN AS WE LOSE 2-0 TO BOTTOM CLUB TREVENSON,,CREDIT TO THEM THEY FULLY DESERVED THEIR WIN,AGAINST MY SIDE WHO SIMPLY WENT THROUGH THE MOTIONS,OF THINKING THAT JUST TURNING UP WOULD SECURE THE WIN,INSTEAD OF DESERVING IT ON MERIT,WE HAD NO QUALITY ANYWHERE ON THE PITCH DID NOT COMPETE WELL ENOUGH,AND COULD NOT HOLD ANY POSSESION OF THE BALL LONG ENOUGH TO WARRANT ANY SUCCESS..QUITE SIMPLY WE HIT THE BOTTOM OF THE BARRELL IN THIS FIXTURE....GREAT GOAL 2 MINS INTO THE SECOND HALF,AND THE WRITING WAS ON THE WALL....TOO MANY OF MY PLAYERS FAILED TO SHOW UP,WHILST TREVENSON HAD THE GRIT BETWEEN THEIR TEETH,AND HAD MORE DESIRE THAN WE DID..AND 2-0 WOUND IT UP....

HOPE MY LADS HAVE A NICE WEEKEND,MAYBE THEY WILL TAKE A LONG HARD LOOK AT THEMSELVES,AND TAKE STOCK.....THIS SIMPLY WILL NOT DO.....

TREVENSON RECORD ONLY THEIR SECOND WIN,BUT AGAINST A SIDE THAT DESERVED NOTHING ON THE EVIDENCE OF THAT 90 MINUTES.....INEPT..PITIFUL..WOEFUL...DISPLAY.....AND EVEN I KNOW THEY CAN DO A LOT BETTER,THAN THIS..

JS Cup

Goonhavern Res 0 - 1 Gulval Res...

a very tight affair which was won by a penalty at the end of the 1st half....chances went begging for both sides which were either missed or produced great saves from both keepers......plus if one of our clear cut chances were dispatched before Gulval got into the game in the 1st 15 minutes...the game could of swung our way...we were disappointed...but will take great heart from a good battling performance and hopefully re-produce that for the rest of the season....especially with the influx of some 1st team players in the next few weeks...

We wish Gulval all the best in the next round...and a win against our near neighbours Perranporth... :D

Mining League Div. 1

Trevenson Utd. 2 .v. Sennen 0

'Norry' not happy with his sides performance but, to be honest, we have been overdue a good win for the last few weeks. Apart from the first 10 minutes as both sides settled, Trevenson were more than good for their win having huge amounts of possession but not quite the luck to turn it into goals. The whole team played their part especially the midfield that worked tirelessly to support the attack and get back to help defend in numbers. For all our efforts it was 0-0 at half time mainly due to the fantastic keeping from Sennen who, for us, was their man of the match. As ' Norry ' said we took a 1 nil lead almost straight from the kick off, Tim Kitchen struck a beauty from, what has been disputed, between 18 and 45 yds but was probably just outside the area that went in with aplomb off the cross bar. No more than we deserved and for large periods of the second half we tried to add to it - Andrew ' Mushy ' Symons and Shaun Isaacs having a couple of chances, Luke Hart and Sam Mayou were unlucky with a quickly taken free kick and Carl ' Stretch ' Stretton had a great shot that was deflected onto the post. Sennen had changed their formation to try and get back in the game putting 3 up front and had a shot that 'keeper Leigh Isaacs had to be alert to when it almost snuck in at the near top corner. Mushy got the all important second when he nicked Stretch's almost certain goal by heading in at the far post. With the pressure now off, we managed to hold out and record a great win to hopefully build on.

Mining League Div. 3

Praze 6 .v. Trevenson Utd. Res. 1

Anyones game after the first 30 minutes, but conceding two changed the pattern of the game and Praze went on to record the win. Trevenson's goal scorer Mike Barratt.

Mining 2

Mount Ambrose 1 - 3 West Cornwall (h/t 0-2)

A much closer game than the previous two meetings having lost 9-0 and 6-1, we were shocking in the first 20mins playing a new formation which did not work and found ourselves 2-0 down, but a re-organisation and some harsh words at half time made it a much more even game, from then on we started passing the ball better and getting stuck in and pulled it back to 2-1 and at that point we really felt we were back in it, but a late third from them when one of our defenders was down injured killed off any hope we had of a positive result, they probably just about deserved the win but we can take a lot of positives from the game.

Well played West Cornwall a good bunch of lads, but we are still above them in the league and with a couple of games in hand :drink:

JS 1st Round

Rosudgeon Res 2 St Ives Mariners 1

Tough game well reffed,On a difficult pitch Rosudgeon got back to winning ways after last weeks disappointing display,But not without a very good fight from a very spirited Mariners side.1st half was quite tight with chances a few.Phil Tanser coming closest twice sending efforts inches wide.

H/T 0.0

Second half we sent Jake on and he does excactly what it say's on the tin.He changed the game our way and opened up Mariners with his movement and workrate. And it was Jake who opened the scoring with a cool finish to make up for a woefull effort earlier which i've just heard the ball has just been recovered somewhere in Marazion!!!!!!!

Mariners stuck to the task and did'nt let there heads drop and got back into the game with a great strike from the edge of the box,Which Oz could do nothing about but it could have been defended better!

1.1

Moments later the move of the match won the game when Jason 'Cesc' Angwin flat-footed the back 4 with a perfectly waited pass for Mark to square and Jozzer to tap in for his 14th of the season :clapper:

2.1

The game was streched for the last 10mins with chances at both ends,But we saw the game out and go on to the next round.

Thankyou to Mariners for a great game played in a good spirit,And apoligies once again for the changing situation.See you again in 2 weeks for our league fixture :c:

Att:Sell-out.

Man Of The Match:Phil Tanser,He's really on top of his game at the moment and getting the rewards for the workrate he put's in :clapper:

Donkey:Geordie Dean :o:o Nothing really ran for him today  But did'nt stop him from trying to put it right.

Jolly's Shield

Goonhavern 0-1 Gulval Res

A very good, tight game of cup football played today. Goonhavern came out of the traps well, creating a few good chances in the 1st 10 mins, only to find our keeper well up for the task! Once we rode the early pressure, we started to find our stride, gaining in composure and slowly getting a grip of things. On the balance of the things i would say that we ( Gulval) had probably the best of the chances, either hitting the bar or some how hitting it the keeper :P . Then came the defining point of the game, ball was played in to the box, they failed to clear, our forwards got in to the mix and one was brought down, penalty 2mins before half time  Gringo Harvey dispatched ,only for the ref to make him re take it because players had entered the box. He kept his nerve and blasted it in to the top of the net :D

0-1 h/t

Goonhavern are a tall side but they found all our players up for the fight, even out jumping players who had large height advantage. The second half continued much the same as the first. " Janner " Philips went 1 on 1 only to shoot over, Chas had a certain goal cleared off the line with a great last ditch clearence. Goonhavern still tried to create an opening, only to find the door shut in their face by a hard working side. Even with 3 regular starting players missing the players stepping up to the plate never let us down. With injuries piling up for us we was glad to get to the final whistle with the victory.

Cant thank Goonhavern enough for their hospitality, good bunch of lads !! Thank you :smiley20:

Mining 2

Camborne School of Mines 7 V 2 Threemilestone Res

CSM dominated possession throughout the match but were made to work hard for their first goal. Having gone 3-0 up we conceded a sloppy goal from a corner and just after half time a resuffle to 4-4-2 was not adapted to quick enough as TMS grabbed a second goal to make it 3-2. However CSMs possession eventually payed off seeing them kill the game off with another 4 goals. Thanks to TMS who never gave up, see you at your place next week.

Perranporth 2-1 Carbis Bay

Bispham, D Lord for Perran

Well done to 16-year old Dan Lord on his first goal in men's football. Shame it had to be spoiled by a Carbis Bay player warning him to stay away from next weeks game as he was going to "put him in a coma".... and here was me thinking we were trying to encourage the youngsters into the game! :SM_carton:

Thanks Mr Keane....we had a few injuries on the day...Steve Chapman had to go to hospital (our own clearance!!) and had to re-shuffle a few times throughout the game because of other injuries...you have a good hard working side and this was a lot tighter than the game at your place....I look forward to another battle with Mr Harvey...and I will learn even at my advanced years of a little guy jumping in front of me :clapper:

Jollys Sheild

St Buryan 1 - Marazion 1 AET Marazion win 4-1 on pens

Woeful turnout from us on the day, so many players under performing :(

Had our chances but didn't take them, our heads dropped and Marizion took advantage.

We took the lead late in the second half through Danny Mitchell and finally their was some cheer amongst us. Then we rushed a free kick and gave away possession so cheaply which they took advantage of. Great finish from the young lad. He nearly scored another not long after that would've been a belter had it gone in (wish he did our pens were disgusting  )

On the plus side. Jowan at CB, he did a great job in there.

Good bunch of lads there at Marazion hope they stick it out as their was talk they might fold? Dont need to lose any more from mining 3.

Hope your lad is ok Bertie, as that was a fair old whack he took to the napper!! Look forward to the trip up to your patch later on in the season, hopefully it'll be another cracker of a game like saturday was.
