Premier Sixes
P0 Premier Sixes 6 - 2 Mount Charles Planning has already started for next season with the entire first team squad commiting to next season's campaign (including Karl 'I used to play Swedish National Division Two but don't like to talk about it' Urlander). A cavalier 3-4-1-2 was used against Mount Charles to some effect in the opening 25 minutes as goals from Dan 'even Andy Cole had a better goals to game ratio' Parsonage (he also became the clubs all time leading scorer with that strike and didn't he let every know about it in the bar afterwards), Matt 'I celebrate like i have just scored the winner in the World Cup' Kelly and debutant Pete 'biggest signing in the history of P6' Ling gave P6 a dream start. Matt Kelly was then red carded 25 minutes in for foul and abusive language causing P6 into a tactical reshuffle. Jake 'Sarcasm alert - I'd hate to see him in a P6 shirt next season' Blythe then scored a sweet goal for Mount Charles as he lobbed Bythe on rushing Prento from 12 yards out. 3-1 P6 at Half-time. Mount Charles with the wind behind them pressed right from the off at the start of the second half and were rewarded when Brown scored a cunning goal dropping his shoulder to leave keeper Prento for dead as he rolled the ball into the net from an acute angle. Mount continued to press with P6 living off scraps with Ling isolated upfront. Mount could't manage to turn their pressure into the all important equaliser as the P6 backline just punted everything long. P6 weren't without their own chances to extend the lead as TJ Newton and Bewn Lawrence both hit the bar in spectacular fashion before Code audaciously asked the ref if a 45 yard free-kick was direct, as the ref chuckled to himself while replying yes Roberto Code had launched a 45 yarder which hit the top of the bar. The turning point may have been down to the substitutions by both teams as Mount Charles rolled of their right winger who had been trobulesome all match for pornstar Jan who was at best average. P6 subbed off 20 goal Parsonage who was showing the touch of a r@£i$t and Ben Ringrose who was carrying a knock with Tom Kaka Allen and Rikki 'I cut hair for a living, but i'm not ######' Clarke entering the field of play. Rikki scored the all important 4th when he was put clean through and smashed the ball into the far corner. Great goal by the little guy who resume hair cutting duty for the rest of the season as of next Saturday.. Mount Charles were deflated to say the least with 15 minutes left on the clock. TJ Newton made it 5-2 as P6 now became the dominant force and then a fine save from a Pete Ling strike in the dying minutes was followed up by Ben Lawrence to mnake it 6-2 to the side with 10 men. Match summary. Stupid sending off, valiant rearguard action, great last 15 minutes were P6 bounced back hard to rattle in 3. MoM was apparently Code in the bar afterwards although a stewards enquiry may be needed after his forfit pint came to a world record amount with approximately 156 shorts involved somewhere as EVERY P6 player was frantically filming the accompanying downing on their mobiles like Japenese tourist's. Appologies for any poor spelling or grammer but the MoM pint has well and truly kicked in. Squad Peter Schmeichel- Henrik Larrson, Gary Neville, Titus Bramble © - Roger Milla, Zidane (sub 65 min Kaka), Lee Bowyer, Georgie Donis sent off 25 min., David Batty, Adebayor, Andy Cole (sub 60 min Joe Cole) AWOL - Tony 'Longworth' Adams apparently up a tree somewhere. SuperCooper
Stratton 1 St Austell 2 A hard fought match, played on probably the worst pitch in the county, I dont know if there is a limit on the slope of pitches!! A bit strange having to change in the local leisure centre and then get back in your car and drive 2 miles to the pitch!!!! (Having a warm-up and then back to the changing room for a team talk was out of the question!!!). Still should not complain 3 points (Only Just Though!!!) :P
Lafs
You did'nt head back to the leisure centre for the h/t teamtalk then I take it Coops?! The problem you guys are fortunate enough to have, is that you are so used to such fantastic facilities at Poltair Park!!

Mongoose
Really cant stand this pitch/facilities snobbery. You are lucky that you have a club that already is in the ideal situation so why not be happy that you play half your games there and only play other teams that dont on the odd occasion. You should feel for the Stratton lads that play there week in week out and are proud to do so. It aint easy raising funds and I dont suppose that you built St Austell with your own hands and your own cash either. Come on give thema break man. :SM_carton_y:
Jenksy007
Mongoose, Coops may not have built the pitch with his bare hands, but over the last 3 or so years, people like Lee Allen, Lea Cooper, and myself have put our own time, money and grit into making the best of whatever pitch we paid to play on (through affiliation). I may not be at the club anymore, but i can tell you if there was a wall to be built, a changing room to paint, you name it, then big boy, im sure that one of the St.A lads would step upto the plate. Snobbery no, but pride yes.
Mongoose
sure, thats all very commendable, i am sure behind every club is some very hard working dedicated guys like you mentioned but that gives no one the right to belittle what others have, a-la the teams like Stratton and countless others making a good situation out of scraps of land and hand me down equipment etc

Pablo
I'm with Mongoose. No-one wants clubs to go to the wall. We play Stratton next Saturday and we'll have to take what comes and make no excuses whatever the result. I had a small rant at Grampound's pitch earlier in the season but despite everything, I'm happy Grampound have a team and somewhere to play At the end of the day, both teams play on the same pitch. SuperCooper
I appreciate that some clubs dont have the same as others, but every player, manager, coach and supporters have always got something to say about facilities. With the players stratton have got they deserve a better pitch to play on, they gave us two very good games this season and I wish Stratton all the best for the rest of the season. Guest stratton no1
Haha, yeah our facilities are poor I agree, but we have had a new pitch built just around the corner, new turf and goals and more importantly...flat. But thanks to the idiots who layed the thing the pitch is already waterlogged whenever the slightest bit of rain comes in. So I believe the company who did this new pich have to come back and sort it out. Or else we'll be on that crap slope pitch again next season. Good game against St Austell, who deserved the win in the end. Its hard for any team to come up here and play on that pitch but the game was played in good spirits as it was at St Austell a bit ago. Good luck for the rest of the season.

Guest tremaynehooper
As a player for stratton i will start by saying sorry for the state our pitch is in, we try our best but with only a knackered paint roller to speak of, and no funds to purchase any other equipment. We are lucky that we get to play, mainly thanks to our manager/coach//groundsman Ben Purcell, who let me add the youngest member of are squad. we always try to play in good spirit and it gets a little dis-heartening when we get some(they know who they are) that think that they shouldn't have to play on pitch like ours, we have to remember that we aint the best footballers in the country. Its the teams that arent the best in our league that come and moan like hell. the better side come and have a look at it and have a laugh with us, these are the team that have more to play for. i just dont get it.... plus i always look forward to away game as we can play better football(well i hope). Knighter
Just like to thank the Stratton players for a good game on Saturday, I know first hand how difficult it is preparing and maintaining your own playing facilities with absolutely no help or funding, our cricket club at Fowey is in exactly the same situation and no matter how many times you ask for volunteers it never changes! It's also a bit depressing when you put in a lot of effort in your own time only for people to complain , it must also be said that we were welcomed back at the local pub and food laid on for us, something which is not always the case at more illustrious venues! The Stratton team played some great football and pushed us very close, it's not easy when you have very little to work with and I wish the lads there all the best for the season and with the new pitch next year. Cheers.
