gillo10
With United being soooo successful so far this season and a likelyhoood of fixture pile up Graham Poll has stated in his column in a paper that if an FA cup game finishes in a draw after 90 mins the tie can go to extra time and pens on the day if required. Apparently all you need is both clubs to agree, tell the ref before the game thats what is both clubs want and inform the FA. Job done! Would save a lot of tired legs for any club. Anyone know if this has ever been done?

isaac rosenberg
Even in the Cornwall Senior Cup clubs need to give several days' advance notice to the F.A. of such an intention. Given the nature of television contracts, I doubt this could be merely determined on the day by a word with a referee. I expect Mr Poll was making it sound simpler than it is in one of those picture papers read by ManUre fans. Their concentration spans last about as long as Tottenham optimism. Mind you, there's probably a special supplement added to the contracts of all premiership referees about the extra law of the game. "If in doubt about a decision, consult the fourth official on what Alcy Ferguson wants you to decide and then obey him." :drink:
Guest The Judge aka RED OR DEAD
Bring back the days of 3rd and even 4th replays, with the 2nd + replays being played at one ground or the other decided by the toss of a coin. All replays should be played on the tues/weds straight after the original fixture and all employers should allow workers any time off required, so that fans can get to matches and loan them the money to go as well.... those were the days, and what a great boss he was.
