Referee's expenses

Now that petrol prices have been drastically reduced, would it not be a good idea for the powers that be to reduce travelling expenses for officials to last years level of 25p per mile?

With fuel prices now below 90p in a lot of places I think 35p would be more in keeping.

What is this years level?

In Birmingham our Saturday league expenses are 20p for single travel, 25p for dual travel and 36p for treble travel upto a maximum of £45.

On Sundays the fee is £22 fixed rate including match fee and expenses.

I say "put the prices up even more". This may help to ensure that they show up after confirming that they will be there and less games will be cancelled..

Think you will find the 35p mile rate was set when fuel was 85-88p a litre .....

so perhaps it is right now and the poor old referees were well out of pocket at 125-130 p a litre !!!!
