Kick Racism Out... campaign image?

Recommended Posts

I just visited the CCFA website and was greeted by this image...

Why, in a campaign aimed at tackling racism, are they (not CCFA but the campaign organsiers) using an image of just black boys? Would it not be more appropriate to show a group of people of different colours?

I was just wondering whether anybody else found this to be a little odd or whether it is just me being anal?

Here is the St Agnes AFC effort towards 'Kick it out'!

St Agnes AFC Girls Under 15 team took part in the FA 'Kick it out' Campaign proudly wearing stickers and sweat bands emblazoned 'Kick Racism out of Football' during their home fixture where they entertained Bude Girls Under 15 Team who were invited to join in and also wore stickers.

The match was Bude girls first ever fixture in the East Cornwall Youth League and the St Agnes Manager Mandy Kimmins congratulated them on their determination and effort despite arriving one player short!

St Agnes proved the stronger team in this game with Kerry Penrose and Lucy Frost scoring a hat trick each and Boo Field adding one to make the final score 7-0 to St Agnes.

St Agnes team player Amee Woledge said, "It was really good for us to take part in the Kick it out campaign as one our team was involved in a pitch incident where something horrible was said to her and she didn't play club football again. I think it's great that we could do something to try to make a difference in such an important subject."

St Agnes AFC Chairman Mandy Kimmins said, "Throughout the next couple of weeks during the FA Kick out Campaign all of the teams within St Agnes AFC will be involved from vets to ladies and men to girls, boys and mini soccer - it is an important statement to make and St Agnes AFC hopes to encourage a strong message that Racism within football at all levels must be kicked out.'

St Agnes AFC Ladies traveled to Penzance for their first meeting of four this season in the first leg of the Division 2 Kimmins Cup which Penzance are presently the holders of.

Also entering into the Kick it out Campaign the Aggie Ladies wore 'Lets kick racism out of football' stickers and started the game brightly.

Penzance opened the scoring with St Agnes quick to reply with a goal from Anita Adams.

Penzance went ahead again the score 2-1 at half time.

After half time St Agnes equalized when Leanne Harvey struck to make it 2 all.

St Agnes continued to battle with heads high but conceded 2 further goals the final score Penzance 4 St Agnes 2.

Anticipating a hard game with Penzance expected to dominate St Agnes were encouraged by their overall performance and not disheartened with the final result.
