Glyn says goodbye to City

Recommended Posts

It's great to hear that Glyn Hooper has resolved whatever issues he and Truro City had, leaving him to once again get involved with Cornish football.

He officially parted ways with the club last week and although was soon involved with a training session at Penzance, he has not yet signed for a club, although "Penzance are looking favourable."

Ideally he is looking to play and coach if possible .... whichever, it's good news that Glyn is soon going to be seen back on the local football scene. :D

Dave its not so good news for the rest of us in the South Western Peninsula League West IF he is joining an already very impressive Penzance squad, makes them even harder to beat now lol! Being serious though, great to see someone of Glyn's experience and quality being able to still be involved, i am sure he will be a fantastic addition

Goonhavern are in need of a manager!!!

It would make a nice change if someone like Mr Hooper took on a proper challenge for once where they could show their true ability as a coach to both bring on and bring in players without the waft of cash to entice players in.

A quick question does anybody think Mr Hooper or Mr mewton would be as succesful at clubs like goonhavern when the players they could bring in would have to do so for the joy of playing not for the lure of cash??????????

Good question r and l. Yes it would be nice if the so called top managers actually went to a so called lesser club with no big budget. Then they would truly be a great manager if they achieved success but it will never happen because they will always be invited to the clubs with the large amounts of money to spend.

It is unfortunately never going to happen that the Mewtons, Careys of this World took on a Club with no money.

Then to be objective if a Club like Penzance suddenly finds itself with a big budget to splash around then they are going to go for a manager with the reputation.

well said peppermint although I agree with the sentiments of r & i it truly would be an achievement to be successful at a club with little money and with guys playing for the love of the game and for the club instead of constantly moving around chasing the money while it lasts as many do.
