Dave Deacon
Bodmin Town 2 (Flynn, Baker), Saltash United 1 (Chapman) (HT:0-1) Chapman scored for Saltash just before half-time with a rasper of a half-volley, just outside the penalty area, which Miller reacted quickly to by getting an arm to it, but the ball looped up into the air and bounced in. About ten minutes after the break, Flynn headed home a near-post corner after Saltash never learnt from the previous corner seconds before which was hesitantly cleared at the near-post! Five minutes from time, Baker headed home. A long kick out by Miller left his opposite number Wearing in two minds whether to come for it or not, Morgan made the most of this and after going out and around the Ashes 'keeper, put in the telling cross for Baker to get his head to it, despite being closed down by two defenders. Bodmin : Miller; Underhay, Flynn, Simmonds, Teagle; Ovens (Morgan), Gilbert ©, Campbell, Turner; Baker, O'Hagan. Other subs : Manley, Bance, Madden, Hodge Saltash : Wearing; Smith, T Clark, Bouch, Sargison (S Clark); Chapman, Simpson ©, Coulton, Purnell (Thorne), Lewis; Pender (Palmer).
