Ian Pethick
An away win and clean sheet in a pretty uninspiring game which, considering the week Parkway have had, is pretty welcome. Ryan Lane scored inside the first 10 minutes, and the game then developed into a pattern in which Harrow had the bulk of possession, but were unable to do much with it as, at times, Parkway appeared to be playing a flat back five with a deep lying four in front of them. When Harrow did threaten, a Callum Rose led defence coped with it well. Rose showed what an important figure he is at the back for Parkway. Behind him, debutant goalkeeper Adam Parkes delt with everything that came his way in a pretty calm and dependable manor. When called into action for about the only time in the game, he pulled off a superb save from an effort about 15 yards out on the left side of the penalty area. Jack Crago, on as sub for the injured Jared Lewington, should have taken at least one of the chances from Parkway breaks late on in the game to soothe nerves, but the sense of relief from Lee Hobbs and his side at the final whistle was pretty clear for all to see. How did Imran Uche play for Harrow? He was with us at Hampton for a few years, was a decent enough right back/centre back/DM at National League South level. Looked solid enough, but the primary function of the Harrow back line was to start attacks moving again as Parkway defended in two banks of 5 and 4 with Crago isolated upfront.
