YOUTH FOOTBALL FINDS A NEW HOME!

St Newlyn East AFC are today announcing the major exciting news that they have formed a brand-new Youth setup within the club. This will see local children able to play football at their Cargoll Rd home for the first time in our 116-year history under our clubs’ banner.

In a statement the club announced:

“We are delighted to confirm we have initially formed 2 brand-new sides for under-7 and under-8 players. We have completed our affiliation with the County FA, as well as ensuring all insurances and safeguarding measures are in place. They will be training at the village all-weather court from early January and we hope to arrange friendlies with other local sides over the coming months. We shall be aiming to join one of the local leagues for the new season in September and then expand our sides to encompass under-9s”.
“We are very fortunate to have secured some sponsorships already, have the backing of the local Parish Council and have received a fantastically generous grant from Trewithen Estates to help us purchase much of the necessary equipment to allow us to start in the best manner possible.”
“FA-qualified youth coaches will be helping the boys and girls to have fun, learn new skills and develop their confidence in a team-environment. At St Newlyn East we are known to promote good-sportsmanship and have a great club-identity. We hope that the local community will come to support our new endeavour and cheer on the kids when we play – Sunday mornings will certainly be more enjoyable at the home of The Saints!”

Recent developments at our forward-moving club have seen promotion to the ECPL, the refurbishment of our changing rooms, improvements to pitchside fencing, as well as recently-started works to enhance our pitchside spectator and player facilities.

We will be making further announcements for club contacts, etc. regarding the new Youth teams in the weeks to come. In the meantime anyone interested in finding out more information can contact Club Secretary Jonathan Grigg on 07955 735440 in the first instance or by DM here..
