Guest rower
Now that the season is well underway, Parkway are leading the Premier division, and looking good to stay there. Do you think they can hold out for the rest of the season and get promoted to Western League Div 1? I think they can, but not sure how they'd fare in Div 1. BigG
I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.... but, I was under the impression that the Champions of the SWPL can go direct into the Western Premier League. From watching Truro there is no doubt that there is a big gap in standards between Western 1 and Western Premier Teams.
Guest rower
Not sure, although to go from SWPL is Step 7, and WLP is Step 5, so don't think you can skip a step. Someone will be able to tell us.
Richard Rundle
The Peninsula League Premier Division is at Step 6, it is the regional Division Ones that ar at Step 7. Therefore, the winners of the Peninsula League Premier could accept promotion direct to the Western League Premier Division, if they so wanted. John The Baptist
I played quite a number of times for a very average Saltash side when they were in Western Div 1 and the standard is no better than in the old South Western League. I would have thought that IF Parkway were to win the league and seek promotion then they would be able to hold their own in the Premier of the Western. Obviously Parkway are no mugs and would obviously need to improve their sqaud though!!
