Trelawny League Division 4: Ludgvan Reserves 6-0 Madron

Ludgvan maintained their 100% home record and kept their third consecutive clean sheet with a comfortable 6-0 win over Madron at Fair Field.

The Hurlers took control of the game early on and would have taken the lead inside the opening 10 minutes, but for a couple of good saves from visiting goalkeeper Matt Stevens.

Ben Mills broke the deadlock after racing down the right-hand side to slot the ball into the far corner and Dan Hopkins doubled the home side's advantage shortly after with a cool side-footed finish.

After the interval, Ludgvan were much more dominant in possession, which was helped but their opponents' keenness to attempt long balls over the top at the first opportunity.

Henry Rowe made it 3-0 after turning in Liam Barnett's cross from the left-hand side, before Tom Ramsey added the Hurlers' fourth with a powerful strike from just outside the penalty area.

Ramsey then put Jamie Leah through on goal but, with the goal gaping, the forward blasted over from little more than eight yards out.

However, Leah made amends five minutes later when he beat the last defender before firing in Ludgvan's fifth, and then Hopkins made it 6-0 with an accurate finish from just inside the visitors' half, making Madron goalkeeper Stevens pay for his fondness of coming a lot further out of his penalty area than necessary.

The Hurlers' attention will now turn to Wednesday evening as they prepare for the visit of second-placed Mabe - it's set up to be a good one!

Ludgvan Reserves: J Fitchett; Southcott, Lane, Matthews (Ramsey), M Harris; Mills (Rowe), M Fitchett, T Hannaford, Barnett; Hopkins, J Leah.

Premier

Threemilestone 2-1 Gwinear (0-1 h/t)

Joe Carlyon and Matt Mcilroy with the goals.

Game well reffed.

A very even game tonight which could of gone either way, Gwinear had the better of the 1st half and went in at half time 1-0 up. 2nd half was slightly better from the stones and then a little patch of play where we were a bit sharper and saw us score 2 in about a 15 minute spell. Gwinear had a couple of good chances to equalise but Nick Dow tipped them around the post. in the end, not the greatest performance but another very welcome 3 points.

Very well reffed by Charlie Philpott.

All the best to Chris and the Gwinear lads for the remainder of the season.

St Stephens 5 st newlyn east 3

we were 3 down in 20 mins  changed it at the back, myself on for an injured player this steadied the ship n inspired us to score 5 goals thus resulting in an important win as we chase padstow down, probably won't catch them but 2nd place isn't that bad considering the dire start to the season we had
