Truro City 2, Boreham Wood 0

Another great win for City despite all the doom and gloom off the pitch!

Stewart Yetton scored his 218th goal for the club, while Ben Williams got his first with a header 20 minutes into the second half.

Last week the league leaders left with only a point, this week the second-placed visitors left with even less, providing you don't count the three red cards they got shown!

Having mentioned the dismissals - four in all as skipper Jake Ash also walked for two yellows, the game was no where near a dirty encounter. One mad moment a couple of minutes before the half-time interval saw Ben Nunn sent off for a badly timed tackle on Cody Cook, their big central defender Charlie O'Loughlin wanted to get into the fisticuffs action and was well picked out by the officials and walked while Jake Ash also went a second yellow for getting involved.

With only 9 players against them it was a little surprising that City came out for the second half still fielding four at the back, and for a while it looked as if Boreham might sneak back into the game, that was until Ben Williams headed home a corner for the second and killer goal.

Things got worse for the visitors when their skipper Luke Garrard was also sent off for grabbing Stewart Yetton straight after the City striker was being a nuisance in the penalty area!

The final whistle went and the City players applauded the supporters while the supporters then returned the show of respect for the players by cheering every single one off the pitch.

With 8 points from a maximum 15, that's only one less than this time last season, and it makes one wonder what might be possible with just the football to worry about!

Sandercombe, Green, Williams, Ash, Hodges, Cooke, Kelly, Broad, Yetton, Moore, Afful. Subs: Watkins (on for Moore) and Hall.

Joe Broad and Stewart Yetton leave the pitch hoping that somehow this isn't the last time!
