St Blazey cross the border again for top of the table six pointer

Recommended Posts

The core St Blazey travelling support of 30 or so have certainly clocked up the miles in the early part of the season, and tomorrow will be no exception as we cross the river for the fourth Saturday in a row.

The match in question is Ivybridge v St Blazey, third v fourth, but both sides have a chance of topping the table with a win (depending on results elsewhere).

Ivybridge have never been very charitable to us at their place, but this will be the strongest team we have taken there since the inception for the league and we will be hopeful for all three points.

Personally, this will be my first visit to Ivybridge (and 148th ground in total!) and - if rumours are to be believed - could be my last for a while as Ivybridge could face automatic relegation whatever position they finish if they do not get their facilities up to scratch.

This will be a high-quality match and I recommend for any neutrals in the area.

Up the green and blacks! :c::c: :c:

Ivybridge 2v4 St Blazey.

The disapointment of last saturday was put to bed as St Blazey went away with their first ever 3 points from the Ivy. St Blazey made plenty of good chances early on but fell behind to a well taken lob over Tom Blackler in the Blazey goal. But St Blazey hit back with a great low drive from Zallick before St Blazey took the lead from a quality chip over the Ivy keeper after hed only managed to clear the side of the area. A contender for goal of the season. Good work from Reski set up the third before Ivy hit the bar and then scored in the closing minutes of the first half. The second half started really well for St Blazey with Neil Slateford taking on the Ivy defence and chipping the advancing keeper on the tightest of angles. That knocked the stuffing out Ivy and it looked a stroll from there on in with little sign of Ivy pulling a goal back. zallick had two good chances to make it 5 but couldnt take them. Then two late goals given off side. So 2v4 it finished and with Buckland thumping Bodmin and Pz beating Elburton, St Blazey go top. Not that many who listened to Radio Truro would no as they gave out the same table as we went to this afternoons fixtures. That radio station really is a bag off cow pats!!!

Anyway......get in there Blazey!!! :yahoo:

Well done Blazey, 1st win of the season against a team from the top half of the table. Look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks at Homers Heath.
