Millbrook vs St Austell

Recommended Posts

Can Millbrook do the double over St Austell? Since they last played, St Austell have lost their gaffer, and Millbrook's results haven't been to successful.

Will St Austell's new man make a difference to the team and aid in changing the outcome? Although Millbrook haven't scored to many, they still haven't conceded to alot. Is it going to be a bore draw or will fortunes change for better or worse for one club?

Millbrook failed to do the double over St Austell loosing 4-2.

The game was heavily influenced by the wind, evidential in the first half as Millbrook struggled to get out of the half. The brief occasions they did was through lewis vines beating the offside trap. The first goal came via a poor clearance by millbrook deep in there own half that went across the box falling kindly to st austell on the edge of the box, and after some quick interchange of passes the ball was laid off to a st austell player to be struck into the top corner.

St Austell grabbed another goal before Zak Pearce stroked the ball home from close range after a Millbrook corner. Just before the half time whistle, st austell were awarded a penalty after James Gill brought down the st austell striker in the area. Gill redeemed himself however by saving the resulting penalty well.

Second half Millbrook got off to a flying start by scoring within a minute through a long pin point ball by Dan Gill to find lewis Vines free in the area to to score and bring the score to 2-2. Millbrook then failed to capitilse on this and allowed st austell back into the game. st austell got the next goal via a debatable use of the hand to put the st austell player through on goal. St austell's fourth goal was a gift as a poor backpass fell kindly for the st austell striker to easily place home. Another poor backpass resulted in the ball being put into the back of the net again only for the st austell player to be ajudged of handling the ball. Not only did Millbrook almost score 1 own goal with Zak pearce smacking the ball off the post but another Millbrook player deflected the ball goalwards after a low drive, with J.Gill clearing it off the line resulting in abit of a goal mouth scramble with St austell striking the ball goal bound, but J.Gill saved the low shot again.

A poor day for Millbrook, who will be looking forward to Newquay Tuesday night to put things right.

Another three points for Andy Dingles boys.

Seems like bit of a grind. However its goals that count.

Could do with the St.Austell goalscorers being mentioned.

Looking forward to next Saturday at Poltair when Truro City Res. are the visitors. Several of this seasons' County Under 18 Youth squad will be on view. :c:

Whets was a different class saturday. Shinned the ball out for a corner for Millbrooks first, missed a penalty, missed a couple fairly easy chances, and failed to mark his man for the header of the 2nd goal... Independant definately got it right! :smiley20:

To be fair it was a good save but it was probably the only thing Milbrook keeper done all afternoon. His decision making (holding the ball for well over 6secs a time) and kicking the ball straight out of play etc was fairly school boy!!!

:):D:lol:

Believe the keeper made several saves throughout the day. and had many of the st austell players and management congratulate him after match, and many of the st austell comitee members even told him it was him that was a prominant figure when millbrook beat st austell earlier in the season, and almost thwarted st austell once more in the match just past. he also has had several MOM's throughout the season so far, and some people have tipped him to be the best in the league, so cant be that bad.

So don't know what game you were watching :):D:)

lets see how he does at a most probable wet and windy Newquay tonight!

P.s the keeper is also a qualified and active referee, so is well aware of what six seconds is and at what point the seconds actually start from.
