skyblueref
Hayle 2 Bere Alston 0 Two lates goals from Shaun McMahon ensured a deserved victory over a good battling side from the devon/cornwall border. All credit to Bere for their efforts and for traveling down, especially the keeper who was outstanding in the 1st half, and good luck to them for the coming season from all at Hayle. CoachKT
Yeah, fair play to Hayle and thanks for your hospitality (the result apart), it was a good day out. With Wayne Quinn pulling the strings for Hayle, they had us on the back foot for long periods and won it with two goals in the last five minutes, although up till then we'd defended stoutly and had enough chances of our own to maybe have nicked a draw. Our reserve keeper Tony Rawlings made three or four terrific saves to keep Hayle at bay and although they had the lions share of the play, I think Hayle would not have bemoaned us a share of the spoils such was the nature of the game, which was played in the right spirit and also well refereed. We had four definate starters missing but gave a good account of ourselves led well in midfield by Will Westlake and will take a lot of positives into the remaining friendlies over the next three weeks. On today's showing, I'm surprised that Hayle struggled a bit last season, unless Quinny has pulled in a few new faces and I think they will do a lot better this time around. Best wishes to Hayle for a successful season from everyone at Bere Alston, hopefuly we can come down again this time next year...enjoyed it. hansome dan
Thanks for the game yesterday coachkt and on yesterdays performance i think you will do very well this season, you seem to have some good players there who played the game as it should be played and were a pleasure to accommadate. You did play against a hayle team different to last season who we do expect to do well this season with plenty of competition for places.Only one complaint if you play us next season go for 90 mins and not ease off after 85 and let shaun mcmahon score 2 its not stopped raining here since Also well done to the reserves who put in a good performance with several youngsters against mousehole firsts despite losing 2-1 and a goal from wayne rouffignac (the rain will never stop ).Where have all the legendery hayle strikers gone? Thanks also to james, mark and all at mousehole for an enjoyable friendly and best wishes to bere alston and mousehole for this season from all at hayle .
