Mandy K Aggiemaid
Keith thank you for your thoughts. The Pirate FM CWFL would love to see more clubs and teams and players any suggestions you have please send them over. The committee has done all it can for now and member clubs have voted (as on a previous post) to remain in the present format. We made sure clubs involved their teams and players in that decision making process too. We would welcome new committee members. Anyone interested please get in touch! There will be several management committee roles to fill at the next AGM too so if anyone out there has an interest in helping run the committee and move the Pirate FM CWFL forwards now, or especially in the 2017/18 season, please send me a message or give me a call on 07974 370666. The positives from last week are that all 10 teams fielded sides and all matches were played. There are some wonderful volunteer coaches/managers and players working hard to sustain and then grow or ladies game at grass roots level so positive thoughts and encouragement would be welcome. Mandy K Aggiemaid
Our Pirate FM CWFL is Cornwall only. 11 teams from Bude to Mullion! There are 5 Cornish teams is the SWWFL but they are looking ok the furthest West of those is Illogan.

Wouldn't you then get the same problems of a league of totally mixed strength?
Mandy K Aggiemaid
Newquay Ladies finished last season but Newquay Celtic are still there. With the women's pyramid system providing for promotion and relegation i can't see how those clubs could be made to come down the the lower league. The loss of those numbers would also present the SWWFL with a problem.
ECPL
Unfortunately it has been an ongoing situation in Cornwall To have 11 teams is a remarkable achievement with 5 teams in a higher league. On reflection womens football in Cornwall is quite healthy but there is just not enough teams to make two divisions. As Aggiemaid said despite some horrendous scores teams managed to field full sides. It will take time but if clubs can be formed out of junior teams then it can only improve. It is a shame that Torpoiint no longer have a team Saltash does not as well as Liskeard and Dobwalls. Is youth football being played in the Camborne/Redruth area or St Austell/St Blazey You might not know this but there are EIGHT Cornish players in the Plymouth Argyle squad so all is not lost. It just needs time. If another three teams or even 5 were to join the league next season then it could be split into two divisions. The female game suffers just as much as the male game through players dropping out once they leave junior football. You also have the problem of many players having to give up because they go off to University. Yes you need coaches and helpers but they need help.
