Under 15 Girls Football Kerrier United 1 V St Agnes 2

St Agnes Girls traveled to Kerrier for a very sleepy first half performance against a determined but depleted opposition!

Without their usual keeper Hannah Turner made a stalwart effort in the St Agnes goal for the first half and Emily Anderson controlled the second half.

St Agnes battled well with Mia Jones holding the ball up well at the front and Kerry Penrose and Abi Brandreth creating pressure on the Kerrier goal.

St Agnes failed to capitalize on that pressure and whilst fumbling sleepily to clear their lines they allowed Kerrier to open the scoring with a well deserved opening goal.

The half time score 1-0 to Kerrier.

The second half saw St Agnes come out of the blocks with more determination and life and Hannah Turner playing up front began to rain shots on the Kerrier goal finding the posts, cross bar and keeper in stubborn form keeping her out until her efforts were rewarded when she struck home to bring the score level.

This boosted the rest of the Aggie girls into life and 'on form' St Agnes player of the match Boo Field began to do some fine wide runs - the introduction then of Lucy Frost into midfield gave St Agnes the edge for Lucy Frost to strike home the winning goal.

The game continued with Kerrier playing some really good football, passing the ball around well but the St Agnes defence with Amy Woledge on solid form kept them at bay to leave the final score Kerrier United 1 V St Agnes 2.

St Agnes Girls now have a Christmas fixture break through into 2009 - they would be delighted to hear from any Under 16 Girl players who would be interested in joining them for their quest into the County Under 16's Girls 11-aside Cup in the New Year - any girls interested please contact manager Mandy Kimmins on 07974 370666.

Ladies: Holmans 1 V St Agnes 2

St Agnes Ladies visited Holmans for their first meeting of the season.

With several players away St Agnes used the opportunity to give some of this seasons new signings a run out at League football.

The kick off was delayed while Holmans waited for players to arrive but finally kicked off to an uninspiring fixture.

St Agnes opened the scoring when Tiphanie Herrington gathered up a rebound from the cross bar kicking it in over the line - her first goal at Ladies football.

St Agnes continued to press without scoring until Laura Rogers picked the ball up from half way down the pitch and took it wide at pace beating several Holmans players before striking it into the Holmans goal.

Holmans came back at St Agnes and struck the goal of the match with a great strike from 20yards over the St Agnes keeper into the goal.

The half time score St Agnes 2 Holmans 1.

The second half was a scrappy performance, neither side creating much, injuries all over the place, no further goals leaving the final result St Agnes 2 V Holmans 1.

St Agnes host Holmans at home next week and hope for a better all round fixture!

St Agnes Ladies are considering hosting a 2nd Ladies Team for the following season and would be thrilled to hear from any players or coaches etc who might be interested in being part of this venture - please contact Mandy Kimmins 07974 370666.

Getting better every time iamthebest - I think we need to work on your geography next - St Buryan (otherside of Penzance) and St Breward (up past Wadebridge!) - different ends of the County! Good to see your interest in Ladies football - thank you!

Anita that was nearly right - St Agnes have Launceston in the CCFA County Cup - Falmouth V St Breward was in the County League Cup - confusing I know!
