somersetspur
Great result with great support.Well done Truro City. As I said on previous threads,a winning team playing a good standard of football, will always draw the crowds. I prove my point.

allforone1889
Truro City made it a hat-trick of wins as they overcame Bridgwater Town 3-1 at on Monday to stay top of Division One on goal difference from Cinderford Town. Once again City at home drew a bumper crowd of 668, and City soon raced into a two goal lead with Stewart Yetton scoring on nine minutes and his striking partner Watkins scored a screamer from the edge of the area just three minutes later. Controversy struck the game in the 35th minute when a shot came off City Captain Hockley the Referee pointed straight to the penalty spot adjudging that it was hand ball but finally he consulted his Assistant Referee who confirmed that the ball had come off Hockley's head and a corner was the result. Martin Rice in the City goal did make two good stops but the City defence stood strong and they turned round attacking the Clubhouse end determined to maintain their advantage. The City faithful didn't have to wait long and on 56 minutes from Joe Broad free kick found Marcus Martin unmarked and he headed home to extend the advantage to three. The visitors did pull a goal back eight minutes when Young crossed for Proctor to score at the far post, City however finished strongly and were unlucky not to increase there lead but the team will be pleased with their start of ten points out of twelve and now have a small matter of a FA Cup tie against Falmouth Town on Saturday.
