forest
Div 3 west St Ives 6 Carharrack 1 Played on a very wobbly pitch, the first half was very closely contested. St Ives took the lead after 20 minutes, when a quick throw allowed Adam Fallows to score. Within 10 minutes a scramble in the box allowed Dylan Tiddy to score with the aid of both posts to equalise and then a flowing passing move down the right wing was finished by Liam Taylor to restore St Ives's advantage. A tight offside call prevented them increasing the lead just before the break. Carharrack started the half well, but failed to test the keeper. After 10 minutes St Ives's got their act together down the right wing again and Craig Donlevy finished from 6 yards. A poor throw gave possession to St Ives's after 70 minutes and Thomas Bird hit a shot from 25 yards which gave the keeper no chance. St Ives stayed on top scoring again from close range through Greg Stephens and just before full time Liam Taylor rounded the keeper to claim his second. fudge
Brandon Mcdonnell
Match report 🏆 Wendron 4ths 5-8 St Erme For the final time this season the saints travelled down to Wendron for the last game of the season, in what is a must win for Wendron who held the current relegation spot. With nothing to play for, the saints wanted to end the season on a high with 3 points. The saints started the game with Dan in goal , a back four of Jared, Craig ,cam and sol with Kyle and sam in midfield, Cain and Freddie on the flanks with Thierry and Brandon up top. The saints started well with creating a lot of chances with Freddie playing in Thierry multiple times but the pass was too hard for Thierry to reach the end of it. The saints eventually went ahead when Freddie found his weight of pass when he played Thierry who went through on goal to make it 1-0. Straight from kick off the saints had the ball in the back of the net again when the wendron goalkeeper was closed down by Brandon and has hit off him a loop back over the keeper and into the back of the net. With the saints dominating they looked to be in control of the game but with playing out from the back wendron forced the saints into a mistake where they misplaced a pass that found the wendrons players feet who got his shot off from outside which flew into the top corner. The saints continued to play out from the back and work it well when Jared delivered a great cross to Brandon who was able to find some space to get his shot off into the bottom corner. Wendron again reduced the deficit when a free kick was swung in to the back post where the wendron player was unmarked for a free header which found the back of the net. With Freddie being in acres all first half and causing his full back problems with linking up with Brandon and sol on the left flank, Freddie soon got his goal with some good wing play where he cut in and managed to find the bottom corner . The saints went into half time 4-2 up, looking comfortable at times and dangerous going forward just two sloppy goals to have conceded. The saints made one change with Jake coming on and cam going off. The saints started very well and extended their lead when a mistake from the wendron defender was punished by Brandon who made no mistake in finding the net. A couple minutes the saints added another with a well worked goal when a couple of quick passes broke the wendron defence with a pass from Brandon who lead theirry through who placed it past the goalkeeper. Wendron never gave up and pulled one back the midfielder was afforded to much space and managed to find the bottom corner from his shot. Wendron added another soon after a cross found its way to back stick where the winger was there to tap home making it 6-4. With it the game becoming quite open the saints made it 7-4 when Cain got a shot on the edge of the box which was perfectly placed into the bottom corner. Wendron hit back yet again when the winger beat his man and got his shot off which found the back of the net. The saints made another two changes with Alan and alistair both coming on. The saints added to the lead again when Jake B who was brilliant out on the wing in the second half found Brandon who made no mistake in finishing. Being the last game everyone from the bench got a run out even our two managers Ian and Nigel both coming on up front. Ian was dancing his way around defenders and pulling off back heel passes, the game nearly ended with Nigel getting on the scoresheet after a goalmouth scramble but couldn’t get it over the line, but wasn’t meant to be , but what a sight to see and fully deserved with everything they do for this club. The game did eventually end 8-5 to the saints in the last game of the season not the best performance but 3 points to end off. MOTM- Brandon M, scored 4 great goals, linked up with his teammates around him and getting an assist. All the best to wendron with there remaining game. That’s it for the season with us currently sitting 6th but could change with teams still having games left to play. What a season it’s been from conceding 20 goals in our first two matches we have improved massively over the course of the season and will look to take that into next season and build from there. We would look to thank everyone for the continued support, our Sponsors, players, coaches, fans and we look forward to seeing you all next season ❤️ 3MS Tolcarne Campsite Sophie’s Den The Boathouse #upthesaints❤️
