Match Report 🏆

St Erme 4-5 Dropship

The saints welcomed promotion contenders Dropship, the saints will be looking for revenge after the recent away game against them ended 2-0 to dropship.

The saints started the game with Dan m in goal , a back four of Jared cam Craig and max S , a midfield 3 of Cain Kyle and Sol with Thierry and Brandon out wide and Freddie up top.

It wasn’t long before we saw the first goal in the game when the saints failed to clear and the ball fell to the feet of the striker when he then set it to his teammate who found the bottom corner.

Dropship then doubled their lead not long after when the left back found his initial shot blocked but followed in and able to squeeze the ball past Dan in goal.

The Saints managed to pull a goal back when the Murley brothers linked up with Sol playing Thierry in the middle of the park who was able to turn and play a pinpoint ball over the top of the defence where Freddie was able to beat the on rushing goalkeeper to finish into the top corner.

Dropship then regained there two goal lead after a free kick found its way to the strikers feet who made no mistake in smashing it home.

Dropship were playing some nice football at times and added a another goal when the winger was found on the edge of the box with time  to turn and get a his shot off which was struck into the bottom corner.

The Saints weren’t giving up and looked dangerous when going forward and was clinical again when Freddie M played Brandon M who made no mistake in finding the back of the net.

The goals didn’t stop there for the first half when dropship midfielder  swung in a cross from a free kick and has ended flying over dans head and into the back of the net.

The saints did manage hit Back again with and incredible strike just before half time when Thierrys M  ball across to Brandon M was blocked but it bounced up nice for Freddie M to hit first time on the volley into the top corner sending the saints into half time 5-3 down but still in the game.

Both sides started the second half well with both defences on top denying any attacking opportunities.

It was the saints who found a breakthrough in the second half when Thierry M was played through and taken down by the on rushing goal keeper, when Brandon M stepped up and made no mistake in slotting it away.

The Saints kept pushing to look for the leveller but were not able to break down the stern Dropship defence.

Dropship were looking to close the game out and was close to doing that when the midfielder was found inside the box and his effort was crashed against the post.

Both teams battled well to the very end in what was a well fought game between the two side but it was Dropship who took home the 3 points.

MOTM- Freddie M for the second week in a row after scoring two today including goal of season and an all round good performance leading the line

We wish Dropship FC all the best for the remainder of the season.

Next week we travel to league leaders Holmans in what will be another tough test for the lads.
