The Governor
Callington 1 Dobwalls 5 The hosts came out of the blocks and looked like they were going to dominate the game, They scored early on and continued to press forward and almost extended the lead before the visitors settled. Midway through the first half Dobwalls drew level and took the lead just before the break. Callington continued to press but were caught on the break and when a shot rebounded off the post a defender put the ball in his own net when trying to clear. Dobwalls extended the lead when a pinpoint ball in to the edge of the 6 yard box was met with a powerful header to further dampen the hosts spirits. With the final whistle looming the Dobwalls target man held off the defenders to fire past the keeper. This local derby was fiercely contested as you would expect and there were a number of strong challenges from both sides. The referee dished out a number of yellow cards albeit to the visitors only which seemed a little strange? Both sides played some good football and the hosts are probably feeling that the scoreline did not reflect the part they played in the game. I would estimate that there was in excess of a hundred people wathing? TheolderIgetthebetterIwas
