AJW Posted May 14, 2014 Report Posted May 14, 2014 Grampound 1-2 Padstow Utd. Just to balance up the negative publicity for the Duchy League on here tonight, there was a terrific match at Grampound tonight where the league leaders came out with all the points from a narrow win. Grampound took the lead after 10 minutes and looked like they might score a hatful but Padstow gradually worked their way back into the game, scoring twice in the 5 minutes before half time. The second half was fairly even, with Grampound throwing everything at Padstow in the latter stages. They held out with a mixture of good luck and excellent defending and acknowledged at the end that they had been in a really tough game. This was a really good advert for Duchy League football - good football, full-blooded effort with no quarter asked or given and all played in a good spirit. Good luck and well done to Padstow - a team that played the game in the right way.
