CoachKT
Bere Alston United finally got a much needed morale boosting win in Pre-season with a 4-1 victory against a lively looking Millbrook at Mill Park. The scoreline was a little harsh on Millbrook as both sides created (and in Millbrook's case, missed) a host of chances in an entertaining game on a terrible pitch where the players boots were almost hidden in the long grass. All the more pleasing as Bere played without a reckognised keeper (Centre half Lee Howells donning the gloves) and were still missing two or three players (such is the way during pre-season). In fairness, Millbrook looked a decent outfit and having already played Elburton Villa (drew 4-4) and Polperro (lost 2-3), on the basis of their performances (albeit in pre-season friendlies) all three of these sides could be pushing for promotion from Div One this season. Thanks to Millbrook for their hospitality on the night and best wishes for the coming season. Next up for Bere, a trip to Hayle for a 1st team, 2nd team double header this Saturday (2nd team k.o. at 1pm, 1st team at 3pm).
