culdrose/star 8 (i think it was) 2 mpad..........very poor performance from mpad. 2-1 up at halftime with Star maybe slightly the better side but not much in it. Mpad didnt come out 2nd half, conceded 2 early goals followed by a 3rd 10mins later. Mpad then pushed on without really getting anywhere leaving gaps at the back. Would like to say that not playng since October 25th didnt help but being injured and watching on from the sidelines, it was worse than that. Star fully deserved there big win and played some nice football once the game settled down and scored some good goals. Quite a hard game well reffed and all good sporting behaviour despite 2 or 3 yellow cards. Well done Star/ Culdrose. Run in for the league is going to be close between 3 or 4 teams i think. can only be a good thing

Crowntown Vs Storm

Both teams struggled to make a full team. Storm kicked off with 9 and managed to score to be 1-0 up.

As soon as the extra two turned up, things returned to normal. Crowntown managed a 2 -1 lead at half time.

Final score ended up 5 - 3 to Crowntown with Darren Drew scoring four of them.

Agree with Retired For Now. It was a shocking second half performance by us. Culdrose Star just blitzed us and we never recovered. We lost our shape completely and simple passes went astray. First game since 17th October so it was nice to get rid of the cobwebs, and we've got a chance to play better against them in the cup next week.

County Sunday Cup Results;

Third attempt to play Tremough Vs Shortlanesend called off - frozen patches on the pitch.

Blue Anchor Fraddon 1 - 4 St Blazey

White Hart St Teath 6 - 2 Penzance Astropark

Tremough P-P Shortlanesend To be played on 31st Jan

So, next week's Peter Hickey Cup tie, Crowntown's Vs Shortlanesend has gone, as has Tremough Vs GWRSA (the match we were all waiting for).

I'll have to review fixtures for next week. In Div 1 it may be necessary to re-arrange to whole programme. Bugger!

All I can say to our game being called off is :SM_carton:

Big thank you to Sam, we tried everything and everywhere to get a game on, but it just wasn't meant to be.

Fingers crossed next week, we will get a bleeding match!! :c:

White Hart St Teath 6 PZ Astropark 2

To be honest I never expected much out of this game as last season's runners up must be one of the favourites to win the Sunday Cup this year. Being restricted to a bare 11 and a linesman due to this game being postponed twice and life getting in the way didn't really help either, so it was a nice surprise to start really well and take an early lead, playing some great football on the floor.

After having a fair bit of possession in the 1st 1/4 hour we then self-destucted a bit conceding 2 own goals and 2 more soft ones to trail 4-1 at halftime. The boys did the West Cornwall league proud though by never giving up and after conceding another goal pulled it back to 2-5.

St Teath had a very pacy and dangerous guy on the left wing who fairly tore us apart and have a couple of handy central midfielders too. Whilst they had a lot more chances as we pushed up to try and get back in it, we also had some chances, hit the bar and played some lovely football around their box. They're a good side full of players heading towards promotion to the ECPL so I'm chuffed we competed and didn't look totally outclassed.

The game was well refereed by Jon Harris who snuffed out any trouble with a couple of early warnings/bookings for bad tackles by St Teath. Good luck in the semis lads and cheers for the grub after. That's a nice pub you got there! :drink:
