Martin McHugh Posted December 20, 2009 Report Share Posted December 20, 2009 Having been present at the meeting whereby it was agreed to be tougher on teams calling off games due to lack of players, I can say that I have never known a league to be so bad at following through with intentions. Any club having played 2 or more league games should consider themselves lucky at the moment and unless the league act now it will become a farce. If a club calls off a game for any reason other than an unsafe pitch (which should then be checked by a qualified ref) or with agreement from all involved and an alternative ground and time for the game to be played, the club should answer to the league. Talking to players from many clubs, it is now up to the league to sort out the problems and step in. These are obviously my personal opinions and not those of any club or other players.
