redrum123 Posted December 12, 2009 Report Share Posted December 12, 2009 ST IVES MARINERS 3- GOONHAVERN 4 Well what a game that was, first half was competative but goonhavern took their chances and got 3 goals and thats how it was, defence keeping st ives at bay and working well together. second half was a different story, st ives came at us and with us changing the right side of field with subs we didn't settle???????, they got a goal back after failing to clear line and applied the pressure, we then replied straight away to make it 1-4, thinking that the game should be over, ives kept going and scored another 2 while we were still in a mess, but in the end we picked up and defended till the end not that thats the way we want to play!!!! making the final score 3-4 goonhavern. well battled game and 3 points in the bag, good luck to st ives for rest of season. maldini123 Posted December 13, 2009 Report Share Posted December 13, 2009 Wendron 0 - 8 Carbis Bay UTD CBU should of got 12 or 13 in this game, but a few easy chances missed and hitting the post 4 times kept the score at 8. CBU played well and moved the ball about nicely and managed to score 3 before h/t. Second half we stepped up a gear and for most of the 45 we played in Wendrons half and scored another 5. Credit to Wendron who never gave up and do seem to have a much improved team from the start of the season. Thanks to the ref aswell who did a great job. Why if they hit the post should they have scored? The goal is the gap between the posts. I hit the corner flag once. I should have scored. But I didn't count it as a goal.
