Guest Peppermint
Question for Zebedee - if a referee fails to show up what happens - is he disciplined by the County FA or the league concerned. They are quick to come down from a big height if a player or club does something wrong so what happens to officials that fail to turn up without notifying the clubs! Dave James
Graham ......The League CANNOT take any action against the referee . We report the fact they accepted the fixture and had it confirmed by the club 5 days before.......and then failed to show , to the appointments officer and CCFA Referees Officer . My understanding is that they then request the referee to give the reason for his non appearance . Unfortunately I do not know what happens from there . Sadly this is not the first occasion for this ref !!!
Guest Peppermint
Thanks for that information - it does seem a shame that clubs do what they are supposed to do but can have their game called off because a referee fails to show - surely it takes only a phone call to say what has happened. Dave James
The same ref failed to show at Penzance 2 weeks before when Dobwalls were the visitors ........one hell of a trip for nothing ......and they will have to travel again whenit is refixtured !! Guest Peppermint
It does beg the question - how many times is this referee going to be fixtured and not turn up - without some sort of apology or explanation. Must be very frustrating for the players, spectators and the League Administration.
