Grampound picked up a point from a well fought contest against the unbeaten Lewdown Rovers; player/manager Alastair Woodman had his strongest squad of the season to pick from including Richie James playing his first game since a hip operation in June; and his first game for Grampound for two seasons after playing for Premier Sixes last season. Grampound were under the cosh for the first 15 minutes and had to thank Glyn Leaney to an excellent goal line clearance to keep the scores at 0-0. Grampound appeared to have weathered the early storm but Lewdown took the lead after Andrew Terry was presented with a tap in following a handling error from Bennett-Glew. Ryan Orchard did find the back of the net but the flag had gone up well before his lob over the Lewdown keeper. Grampound gradually came back into the game and were unlucky not to go into the break level with Rob Cannon's header the best chance carved out by the home side.

The home side grew with confidence as the game progressed and were unlucky not to equalise when firstly Kev Toms sweetly struck drive that was heading for the corner of the net was accidently blocked by Grampound player/manager Alastair Woodman & moments later the Lewdown keeper made an outstanding save from a Dai Moseley header. Bennett-Glew had to tip over a long range effort and Andy James picked up a booking for an obstruction. Ben Gillard was then rather harshly booked for another obstruction, the resulting free kick found the corner of the net but did not count as it was an indirect free kick and failed to touch a player on the way in. Lewdown felt they should have had a penalty after Leaney was rather harshly adjudged to have fouled a Lewdown forward in what more appeared a clash of heads after a 50/50 challenge; the referee awarded a free kick riight on the edge of the box. With 10 minutes remaining Grampound equalised when Orchard roasted a defender before smashing an unstoppable effort past the keeper at the near post. Both sides had chances to win the game in the last 10 minutes and a Lewdown defender was dismissed with 2 minutes remaining after a cynical foul on Orchard but overall a draw was probably a fair result.

Good luck to Lewdown for the rest of the season; an enjoyable, highly competitive game.
