  8. This year, on July the 28th, I will again be taking on the Ride London (which is cycling 100miles around London). However, I will not be doing it alongside Oliver Brokenshire, instead I have decided to go alone and raise money for a charity close to my heart. I will be raising money for pancreatic cancer research. Unfortunately, when I was just 19, my Dad passed away with this cruel disease and I know first hand of the damage and devastating affect it can have. He was taken far too soon and has missed out on so many important events in my life. Here are some of the facts regarding this disease and why I have chose to raise money;β€’Its the 5th biggest cancer killerβ€’The worst survival outcome for any of the 21 most common cancers, only 3% of people survive 5 years.β€’The 8th most common cancerI have been set a target of raising Β£430 and I'm hopeful of reaching this target with the support of friends, family and Facebook! Anything you can donate will be massively appreciated and all go towards a fantastic charity.I'm training harder than I ever have and I hope that with you're support I can achieve the target I have been set. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/nei-slatefordThank youNeil ???

  19. Hi All, I have started up a new Walking Football Centre at Pool Academy school, I currently run a centre and it has gone superbly well with over 15 over 50s turning out every week to enjoy a sociable and competitive kick around! If you may be interested in coming along and trying it out please give me a call or message on 07969463773. Walking Football, a slow-paced version of the beautiful game aimed at getting players back involved in the sport, has arrived in Cornwall with venues popping up all over the County. Our sessions are aimed at(but not limited to) over 50s, those coming back from injury and those with lack of mobility. Walking Football is designed to help people keep an active lifestyle despite their age, as well as getting those back playing football who had to stop due to injuries. As the name suggests, Walking Football is non-contact and anyone that sprints, runs or jogs while the ball is in play will be penalised with a free-kick awarded to the other team. The game is played on a pitch 20/40 yards in length and 15/30 yards in width, with the game restarted via a kick, roll or throw-in. Neil Slateford

  22. We at Plymouth Argyle Community trust are currently recruiting for our Education and Futsal Scholarship. The scholars are based at Carn Brea Leisure Centre in Pool, Cornwall and are a part of the unique, fully-funded educational course which gives 16- to 18-year-olds a chance to qualify outside the traditional school or college setting. Studying and training in the exclusive environment of a sports centre with state-of-the-art classroom and conference facilities means that scholars are able to play and train professionally and then compete at the highest level whilst preparing for higher education or employment once they have graduated. Scholars will study for a B-tech Level 3 extended diploma in sport whilst representing Argyle in a competitive league competition against teams including Southampton, Cardiff, and Exeter City. Places are limited and demand is high so please register your interest early. Email mike.foley@pafc.co.uk or neil.slateford@pafc.co.uk for more information
  23. Jared Sims is the most technically gifted player I have played with Leeds United and a massive part of what we achieved last season, so I think your comments are a little disrespectful.
  24. Hi Cornwall Rockets, I run a walking football centre in St Austell, our chaps would love a fixture soon if that's feasible with you? Give me a shout if you can neil.slateford@pafc.co.uk
