The County rule says nothing about "played". Just to give some room for argument, it states "taken part in" senior games.

Of course, the rule was written well before the advent of subs, and is nonsensical, You can, magically, become a junior player by paying £6 - and the rule changes completely after the third round of Junior & Sunday Cups.

It's time that the Senior Player Rule was really looked at and sorted. The F.A. "Standard Set of Rules" suggest a time approach - if a player has played senior football within, say, a month, then he's not allowed to play junior football. That's a much clearer and more sensible approach and one the West Cornwall Sunday League uses in its code of conduct, that the clubs have accepted.

This Senior Rule is one of the silliest in the County handbook. A rich club can reinstate any 4 SWPL players and play them in the Sunday Cup ( The day after they've played SWPL football). After they've been reinstated twice, you can reinstate another 4 and play them!

Then, after the third round, re-instatements must stop and the problems kick in.

So, "Rich Club City" could enter a team for the Sunday Cup and play 4 first teamers in round one and two. Reinstate another 4 just before round 3 and, with a bit of luck get them into round 4. Then for the semi-final and final they have a difficult choice. They can either play the seniors under another name (Prove it) or put in genuine junior side.

ah but what if a player reinstates for round 1 and 2 after playing senior football for the season till that point then drops to say junior football can he then play in the whole competition ?

Amazingly, that's what reinstatement should be about. When you've finished with Senior Football, you can, if you apply, become a junior.

Sadly, in Cornwall, reinstatement means that someone is prepared to pay 6 quid and write the letter.

So, if you don't touch senior football again, you can play through the competition.

BUT only 4 reinstated players in any team. (Maximum of ONE in the Nalders Sunday League.)
