Millbrook 4 Penryn 2

A very solid performance from a determined and much improved millbrook side earned them their first three points in six matches at the Mill. A very boggy pitch made it hard to pass the ball, but Millbrook came out of the blocks early and had three decent chances in the openning fifteen minutes, with Thackeray, Ferguson and Edmunson going close.

it was a Thackeray run and cross from the right hand side that led to the 6ft 4" Ben Edmundson scoring from six yards. this was a well worked goal and a confidence booster for young Ben who was making his Millbrook debut.

As normal, Millbrook switched off at a vital time and Penryns Peter Davey, scored with the last kick of the first half after poor defending by Shaun Bonney, who failed to clear his lines.

Penryn came out the better team and bombarded the home teams goal for the first ten minutes of the second half, and Pen-Collins made some fantastic saves. On 58 minutes, a foul on Bartlett, gave Millbrook a free kick 35 yards from goal. With Hussein Wafta, the normal free kick taker away, up steped Midfielder Will Cole, with an absolute thunderbolt into the top right hand corner of the goal.

Two further goals from the impressive Edmundson, and James Hoblin, enabled Millbrook to take their foot off the gas, which in effect let the visitors get a consolation with two minutes remaining.

A fine team performance from a team who are improving week by week. Wendron next up!!!!
