Perranporth 0 Premeir Sixes Res 1

Perranpoth lost for the 2nd time this season and have lost 2 out of 3 on the Ponsmere now.

The 1st haf was a scrappy affair with both sides missing a few chances, Ben Mitchell twice saved Perranporth from going behind were as at the other end Perran hit the bar, post and saw the opposing keeper also pull off some fine saves.

0-0 Half Time

I have to admit I missed the Premeir Sixes goal, so no comments (sorry).

The second half saw Perrans pressure continue and a string of more good saves and more missed chances kept Premier Sixes ahead, as Perran pushed for an equaliser the Newquay side were also guity of missing chances on the counter attack.

Overall it could have finished a high scoring game but this was not be, 0-1 away win.

I'm always keen to big up the Perran lads but this week praise must go to the 2 centre backs, centre forward and continous running of a Premier midfielder. They battled hard and fair and came away with a great result.

Good Luck for the rest of the season P6's

Lets find are scoring boots for the Junior Cup Perran :P

This was Rocky vs Drago as there were that many twists and turns.

Altarnun Res 3 - 4 Premier Sixes

P6 preparations were thrown into disarray in the lead up to this game. A defence which has only leaked 4 goals in the last 8 games was torn to shreds as Swedish mountain Karl 'the specialist' Urlander was away for the week, Russian centre half Oleg Sorokin couldn't get away from work and skipper Tom Longworth mysteriously failed to show. On top of this Olly Kernick who has been banging in goals for the reserves couldn't make the away trip on his call up to the first team.

P6 turned up with the bare twelve and through together the following line up

Ringer in nets who was supposed to be on the bench, Prento who was supposed to be in goal and left back Rob Black as centre halfs, season long sub Lychy at right back and right back Jamie Caple at left back. Chaos. There was more stability in midfield with two time player of the year Neil Currah returning to right mid in his last game before going travelling, Gaffer Dan Code started in midfield with the young Zidane Ben Ringrose and Chris Schofield captained from left mid. Duchy 4's top scorer Dan Parsonage was dropped to the bench after not looking like he could finish a sandwich in recent weeks so a totally new strike force of South African Kirt Taylor and Ben Lawrence started up top.

To the game

Alts made a bright start but were soon behind after great work by Taylor down the left, he fired in a code cross which Lawrence dummied leaving the defence for dead allowing Code to steam in from midfield and blast home the opener. 1-0 soon became 2-0 when a long ball split the Alts defence allowing Lawrence to steam in and round the keeper for 2-0. Taylor fired over another cross from the right and a Micheal Jordan leap from Lawrence saw him fire in the sickest header to make it 3-0. Alts looked dead and buried. Then the turning point. A piece of Wayne Mackney magic in the middle for Alts saw him beat a man and fire a 40-yard cross field defence splitting pass straight onto the boot of the Alts skipper, his first touch was great his second touch took him away from right back Lynch and his third shot was a curling effort from the edge of the box which beat the full stretch Ringrose to make the half-time score 3-1 P6. This was the lifeline Alts needed and they battered the makeshift P6 rearguard non stop for 20 minutes at the start of the second half with the P6 resistance finally crumbling as they bagged 2 to equalise. Rather than galvanise the Alts spirit it was P6 that then took the game to their opponents creating several chances to win it in the last 15 minutes, Codes top corner bound free-kick was well saved, Prentice turned on the sixpence in the area and narrowly missed the top corner, Kirt Taylor did all the hard work only to fire just wide with the goal at his mercy and Parsonage curled an effort just wide from the edge of the box.

In the last Minute P6 were awarded a free-kick on the half-way line. The troops all pushed forwards as a draw is no good. Code's bomb wasn't cleared by an Alts defender allowing center back Rob Black to pivot and volley in the winner from close range to cause a massive team pile on with the final whistle going just seconds later.

A truly emotional rollercoaster and the most thrilling game I have been involved in with this P6 team. Great game Alt's you guys were so unlucky not to get something from this after coming back from the dead.

Our title dream is over I think this season but this win will go along way towards getting second place behind St Austell this season.

Also a truly massive victory for our reserves against table topping Perran as they look to try and keep up their recent good form.

St Mawgan res 2 Southgate 5

St mawgan only had the bare 11 for this home game and were down to 10 men after only 10 mins a home player talked himself in to trouble over a throw in.

This galvanised the home side and they soon found them selves 2 up through Nathan Allum the first a brilliant wind assisted free kick from 35/40 yards. Southgate scrambled a goal back just before the break but St Mawgan were well worth the half time lead.

Second half was a different story with the home side barely getting out of their own half and once southgate had leveled there was onlty going to be one winner.
