Sunday League Referees' Celebration Dinner

Recommended Posts

Nalders West Cornwall Sunday Football League invited referees and their partners to a dinner to reward them and to celebrate another successful season.

As promised, the referees who were invited were those who had turned out regularly for Sunday League and who had supported the "Referees' Initiative" by completing the team sporting assessment forms for their matches.

In addition, two "unsung Heroes" who had been recognised during the season, Harry Ball and Dave Spears, attended.

The small, informal function was held at the "Duke of Leeds" pub at Leedstown. (The pub also supports local football). A fine meal was funded by the League and Nalders and a very pleasant evening was had by all.

Thanks are due to all concerned.

Hopefully, this will become a regular event.

dave spears from falmouth albion?

The very same. The League awarded trophies, certificates and the evening out to two "unsung heroes", identified during the season. Dave of Falmouth Albion and Harry Ball, who helps out with the Nancegollan clubs, were recognised this season.

There is a problem identifying these stalwarts. The clubs seem very reluctant to put names forward. If you know of anyone...

Dave James is desperate for nominations.
