Smithy
there is just no consistancy with the bans these days!! for example-taylor gets the same length of ban as petrov (for his lil kick),alliadeire for his bitch slap but yet gallas gets no ban for doing the same as petrov but making more contact!! they should introduce something like this: red card ban length :- for something like what gallas and Petrov did and even alliadiere--2 match ban for any high studs up/two footed lunges that dont make any contact at all(not even near i.e henry, kuyt etc) 6 match ban for any high studs up/two footed lunges that make contact but do not break a playeers leg/bones etc (thatcher) 10 match ban for any high studs up/two footed lunges that make contact and result in a serious injury ie Eduardo's injury a 6 month ban (all red card video evidence will be sent to F.A and they make decision on the ban) that should then bring some kind of consistancy into the suspensions and should hopefully rid the beautiful game (only when played by Arsenal ) of these sickining tackles/lunges
Guest
There were many incidents in last nights Argyle Youth match when Man City striker Sturridge deliberately stood directly in front of an Argyle player who was trying to take a free kick. This happened on a number of occasions and the referee never batted an eyelid which meant the Argyle player had to pass the ball back instead of forward. Guest Terrier Tom
You ban lengths don't make any sense. While Martin Taylor's tackle was a red card, it would be crime to ban him for 6 months! There was no way any malice in what he did, he was just too slow and then very unfortunate in the position of Eduardo's leg. If Eduardo hadn't been injured there wouldn't have been half the fuss. For example, compare that poor tackle (with no malice) with a tackle like Roy Keane's on Haaland, which was pre-meditated and malicious. However you can't ban a player based on the level of injury they cause. I would say Thatcher's tackle (even if it didn't cause as gross an injury) is far, far, far worse than Taylor's. Guest postman pat
i am sure if you tried to ban people on this process you would have players taking the fa to court for loss of earnings/work :(
Guest mezza-tms
It would not be a crime to ban Taylor for 6months it was a horrific tackle! :SM_carton:

Not because it would've deterred Martin Taylor from making a similar challenge, but because Eduardo would've been serving his own 10 match ban! Given his equally as bad, studs up, knee high tackle on a Man Utd player in their FA Cup match the week before!! So maybe, just maybe, the holier than thou stance that Gooners seem to be taking could be reined in ever so slightly.
