Latest News from Premier Sixes League and space for a new team

Recommended Posts

Here is the round up of events of the Premier Sixes Sunday league.

It was the last P6 of the year. With just 3 games remaining after tonight there were a number of key Championship, promotion and relegation matches as well as the two semi finals of the P6 Champions Cup the top competition in the league.

P6 Champions Cup

Boston Red Sox 4 - 1 Mean Machine

The Red Sox are the current #1 team in P6 boasting the best keeper in the league in Nathan Prentice and a star studded outfield with Kyle Brown, Phil Lowry, Arren Dilley and Mark Rose of Godolphin ECPL fame, Penryn's Sam Eglinton and wadebridge's Steve Rodda. Machine had a depleted squad but still boasted a number of senior players with Sam Moustrides (Perranporth), Scott Palmer (Newquay), James Merrikin (Newquay), Matt Hallett (Godolphin), P6FC's Tom Currah the top scorer in Duchy 5 and Chacewater's Matt davis completed the star studded line up. The Red sox were far too good for Machine and out classed them from start to finish, Scott Palmer scored a trademark free-kick at the death to reduce the arrears but it is the Red Sox who march through to the final in the new year.

CPTGaming.co.uk 0 - 0 Newquay Cosmos

A complete contrast in quality in the other semi-final saw CPTGaming who mainly draw their players from P6 FC of Duchy 5 take on Newquay Cosmos who only have Jake Casey who play's for Newlyn east as the only senior player on the pitch. CPTGaming have become the toughest team in the league to beat behind the Red Sox as they have one of the most organised defensive units in the league. CPT controlled the game sucking up all the Cosmos pressure reducing them to pot shots while carving out the best opportunities to score only to be denied by the woodwork and big Dave Thopson in nets. The match went to PK's and CPT came through as Cosmos had their 1st and 4th penalties save by Phil Rundle while CPT converted all of theirs.

Premier Division

The Red Sox are the champions with 2 games to spare as they broke down CPTGaming to win 2-0, The Panthers kept their unlikely but still mathematical chance of staying up alive with a 2-0 win over Mean Machine who still need to win a game to ensure their safety.

Division One

Keep it Local pretty much wrapped up the division one title with victory over their nearest rivals Real Egloshayle. Team Handsome kept up their late surge for promotion with a 1-0 win over the tri-Hards who are all but assured of relegation. Get in there baz beat the Wolves 5-0 to maintain their hopes of staying up.

Division Two

Where's Davis won to keep a stranglehold of the top spot in division two, Newquay 2nd team boss Vic Osbourne's side the imaginatively titled Vics Team beat 2nd placed YouWantOne.com, however, they may lose the points as they fielded an ineligable player. Srekcuf Mub of St Columb Major saw off the Smurf's 2-0 to send the Smurfs down to division three.

Division Three

The big game in the division saw the top team Newlyn East rowdies take the title after beating their nearest rivals Them Guys 5-3, while third placed Jon's Giants struggled to take advantage of the Guys loss as they went down 30 to the newest team in the league Rectum Rovers.

P6 continues in the New Year on January 6th. With just 3 weeks of the current season left, there is now a space for a new team as Premier Division Team Evil have now folded meaning a space has opened up if anyone wants to enter a side.
