Guest Black&White Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 Penzance 2, Callington Town 1 TWO headers from left back Matt Witts late in the second half gave the Magpies their sixth league win of the season. Callington deservedly led at half-time, courtesy of Pete Floyd's strike midway through a first half in which Penzance struggled to find any fluency, after Wayne Quinn had his sixth minute penalty saved by impressive Callington keeper Adam Fuller. The Magpies were a much more potent force in the second half, with substitute Paul Cox adding some much needed impetus to the attack, although Callington's cause was not aided by the loss of skipper Chris Canham, folllowing a sickening clash of heads with Witts in the Callington penalty area. Ironically, after the lengthy delay Witts was able to continue and it was his head that gave the home side victory, nodding home Nick Pugliese's corner - and then again from Dan Magee's cross deep in added time to ensure his side all three points. I'm sure all at Penzance AFC wish the Callington player involved all the best, and if they continue to show the same work rate and enthusiasm as they did today, they will have every chance of climbing the table.
