Guest Black&White
Millbrook 1, Penzance 2 Penzance fought back from a goal down at half-time to secure their second 2-1 away victory inside five days, following Tuesday's Charity Cup win at Wadebridge. The Magpies had much the better of the first half chances, but somehow found themselves behind at the break when lively striker Tony Hendy lobbed keeper Craig Nicholls to give the home side the lead five minutes before half-time. Stuart Reynolds equalised early in the second half to deservedly get the visitors back on level terms, before Jamie Devine latched onto Nicholls' long punt upfield to slot the ball beyond 'Brook keeper James Gould 20 minutes from time. Penzance and Wadebridge, the division's two unbeaten sides, meet in the league at Penlee Park on Wednesday night (10th October) with a 7.30pm kick-off. carlsberg south west peninsula league division one west sat oct 6 --------------------------------------------------------------- # Team Pl Wo Dr Lo Gf Ga Dif Pts --------------------------------------------------------------- 1 Mousehole 8 5 2 1 20 9 11 17 2 Porthleven 7 5 1 1 27 9 18 16 3 Dobwalls 8 5 0 3 22 15 7 15 4 VospersOV 7 5 0 2 16 13 3 15 5 Camelford 6 4 1 1 13 7 6 13 6 Wendron 8 4 1 3 16 14 2 13 7 Penryn 6 3 2 1 18 8 10 11 8 PENZANCE 5 3 2 0 14 6 8 11 9 Wadebridge 3 3 0 0 6 2 4 9 10 Newquay 6 3 0 3 13 14 -1 9 11 Foxhole 8 2 0 6 12 22 -10 6 12 Millbrook 5 1 2 2 7 8 -1 5 13 Hayle 8 0 5 3 10 15 -5 5 14 Goonhavern 5 0 1 4 6 17 -11 1 15 St Austell 7 0 1 6 7 25 -18 1 16 Callington 7 0 0 7 4 27 -23 0 --------------------------------------------------------------- 06/10/2007 Callington 0 - 3 Mousehole 06/10/2007 Dobwalls 8 - 1 Goonhavern 06/10/2007 Millbrook 1 - 2 Penzance 06/10/2007 Newquay 1 - 9 Penryn 06/10/2007 VospersOV 4 - 2 Foxhole 06/10/2007 Wendron 4 - 0 St Austell 06/10/2007 Camelford 2 - 2 Hayle ---------------------------------------------------------------
Guest
:glare: I think you will find it was Tony Hendy that lobbed the Penzance goalkeeper for Millbrooks goal. He is thinning on top and Johnny Harris is much taller, younger and has lots of hair and I was stood next to his mum and dad.
Guest Black&White
My apologies; mix-up over the chap's shirt number after chatting to your secretary after the game! Hendy looked a handy player, he was a threat to our defence all afternoon with his runs in behind the back four and could have had a couple more. On another day Millbrook may also have had a couple of penalty shouts go their way, but overall Pz were worthy of their victory, with home keeper James Gould pulling off a number of fine saves.
