Anyone know anything about pitch maintenance?

We are looking to improve the standard of our football pitch, are there any grounds people out there that can help?

I am led to believe that the key is Aeration, irrigation, seeding, fertilization and weed control. However these are just words to me!!! I am also told that a chain and harrow is a good thing instead of a roller?? I need some practical tips... anyone please help!!!

Which club are you as your location can have a say in looking after your pitch .we have three pitch's and each one has different needs.
