Julian Chenery
Saltash based St Stephens Borough take on a Borough legends side in a testimonial match for club stalwarts John Busher and Andy Wright at Saltash School on Sunday, 11th August 2013, kick-off 2:00pm. The Borough Legends side has been drawn from ex Borough players either still playing or recently retired so as to provide a competitive match in what is also Borough's final pre-season friendly. Busher is the clubs longest serving player who has been with the club since it was formed back in 1998. Wright has also been with the club for a decade and both now also hold committee positions with Busher Chairman and Wright Secretary. This season also sees Wright take on the role of Assistant Manager to Mark Down. As well as raising money for club funds the club will also be supporting my charity project in aid of the Kits4causes charity. All those attending in whatever capacity - player or spectator - are asked to bring a sports shirt of any kind to donate. Borough are one of five clubs who are supporting the project in some form, the others being Croydon Athletic, Cullompton Rangers, Heavitree United and Kirkintilloch Rob Roy. If any other sports teams are interested in becoming involved they can contact myself via this forum or by e mail chenej1@ovi.com. The testimonial match for Busher & Wright is a well deserved honour for two players who have given the club so much commitment and it is hoped that as many people as possible with Borough - or indeed any local football - connection will support the event. After the game all are welcome to relocate to the Ploughboy to socialise and reminisce over past matches and "the good old days".

I am delighted to be able to add Saltash United to the list of clubs supporting the project.
