MPAD UTD 3 v Truro GWRSA 2

As no one has posted yet I'll stick a quick write up on.

MPAD had the better of the early exchanges and missed a couple of chances where we should have done better.

After one of those misses Truro went down the other end and scored following a goalmouth scramble.

We equalised shortly afterwards from a Dan Loftus freekick. It appeared to be going wide but deceived everyone, including the Truro keeper, and sneaked it.

Two minutes later we took the lead when Mike Cudlipp tapped in from close range. Cudlipp grabbed his second, and our third, five minutes later following a great through ball from Christian Blundell.

Truro almost pulled a goal back before half time, but a header from a corner crashed back off the crossbar.

We had a chance to kill the game off early in the second half but a great double stop from the keeper denied us.

With 30 minutes to go Truro made it 3-2 after scoring from close range.

Truro then threw everything at us, but the defence held firm to allow us to secure our second Gerald Sobey triumph.

I thought the win was deserved. Truro didn't seem to be their usual selves, but we had to work very hard to win.

As usual Nigel Nicholls had an excellent game, as did the two young linesmen.
