BOVEY READY TO SURF UP A WIN AT MOUNTWISE

NEWQUAY, well-known for it's surfers and tourism year on year is the place to be this Saturday as Ryan German and Micky Hunt bring their Bovey Tracey side to Mountwise for this league clash hoping weather approaching the area keeps the game on. (3pm)

German confirmed earlier this week he was very pleased that Micky Hunt decided to turn down an opportunity to manage a club elsewhere to remain committed to Bovey Tracey . He now considers himself and Hunt to be joint-managers, rather than continuing as assistant.

Their partnership has changed the fortunes of the club having only lost 1 in their last nine games. Hunt's record though still remains unbeaten having missed the game against Bodmin, their only defeat.

Last week, a good win in midweek against Plymouth Parkway could not be repeated on Saturday after Camelford and Bovey played out a 2-2 draw at Trefrew Park. German said afterwards it wasn't an easy game and Camelford were well organised and a draw was the fair result.

This weekend, Bovey Tracey miss the presence of Kai Fisher due to suspension after his dismissal against Falmouth Town. Bovey also miss Alex Sanderson, Rich Jones and Cliff Walters. Dale O'Donaghure, who debuted against Parkway could return from work committments after missing the Camelford game. A new signing is on the radar for Bovey and paperwork is almost complete, however, identity of the player remains tight-lipped from the club.

Newquay have been on a recent slump of results due to injuries to some key first team players. The Peppermints have had to draft in 2nd team players as cover. Ashley Piggott is likely to miss the rest of the season, Mark Vercesi has been struggling with injury and club captain Shaun Middleton limped out early in their 1-0 defeat against St Blazey on Wednesday night. Against St Blazey, Danny Brooks and Dan Magee were the stand out players and Mark Vercesi played 10 minutes and came through unscathed and could take Middleton's place if he fails a fitness test. Manager Glynn Hooper may keep Whelden as the lone striker.
