:yahoo: Lanreath 0-1Roche

The hosts started the brightest in very difficult conditions which suited sunbathing and cocktails more than football, but Roche gradually got themselves into the game and at times passed the ball around more gracefully than their opponents, and stout defending from Jamie Masters, Stevie Martins and Malcolm Thomas limited the home side to few opportunities, with Karl Rance and Rudolph Lean working tirelessly down the flanks Roche threatened their opponents more often than not, good efforts from Steve Masters and Paul Omahoney made the goalie work hard in the 1st half, while Roches "stand in keeper"Ross Juilan made light work of Lanreaths strike force.

Come 2nd half Roche were more "up for it" than their counterparts and it started to show with Richard Higgins,Matt Wilcocks ad Tristan Smith bossing the midfield, a goal was coming, but surely whoever scored first would take all three points, and ten minutes from time a deliberate foul awarded Roche a free kick on the edge of Lanreaths area which came from young Alan Meades teriffic 40 yard run down the wing, up step Paul Omahoney to calmly rifle the ball top left hand corner and leave the travelling away support in ecstasy.Lanreath tried hard but good keeping from Ross Julian safely gave Roche all three points, also Chris Arnold made a brief appearence at the end on his way back from injury.

Well done to the ref who had an outstanding game, Roche are this week away to Lostwithiel, dont forget Training Tueday 6-45pm, todays a bank holiday, tomorrows not, no excuses.
