BOVEY READY FOR ASHES TEST

STUART DUDLEY's Saltash United visit Mill Marsh Park on Saturday (3pm), looking for his team to bounce back after their midweek exit in the Throgmorton Cup at the hands of current Premier Division leaders Bodmin Town 2-1.

Saltashs' last win came on 9th February against Launceston but have since been on a slump in both league games and cup competitions.

Bovey Manager Ryan German also understands the importance of the game, after seeing his side return from Falmouth Town with a 2-0 win, increasing their winning run to 3 straight victories and losing only one in 7.

One man in contention for the Moorlanders on Saturday is defender Ryan Stanbridge, who bagged the first goal against Falmouth and is eagerly anticipating the Ashes visit to Mill Marsh Park; "I think we need to go into the Saltash game with our heads up and be confident as we have won 3 on the bounce now and at the moment we are in a high spirit, feeling like we cannot lose."

The last defeat for Bovey was at their home ground, 4-2 against Bodmin, but recent results against sides close to tomorrow's visitors have made the gap between themselves and Bovey reduce to 11 points, making the club's possibility of a top six finish still possible on the basis results at home turn into wins;

"After the Bodmin game we've been playing some really good stuff," said Bovey Manager Ryan German. "It will be interesting to see how to play against Saltash, as it's the first home game where we're possibly not underdogs any more.

There's a bit of pressure to get a win."

After getting Stanbridges' thoughts, all eyes will be on goalkeeper Tom Brooks, who has been in remarkable form of late for the Moorlanders;

"Defensively we were solid against Falmouth and Brooksy was fantastic in goal and I didn't feel like we were going to concede," said Stanbridge.

German has a selection headache as skipper Dan Taylor, Cliff Walters, Dejan Maric, Ed Plackett, Kieran Light and Jared Lewington return after missing the Falmouth game because of a mixture of work commitments, illness and suspension.

16-year-olds Scott Dabbs and Jake Welch were drafted in from Torquay United and Exeter City respectively and may well be recalled.

Goalkeeper Nathan Murphy returns for Saltash, replacing Lee Carew, who stood in for Murphy, while he was undergoing a mouth operation. Manager Dudley awaits news on Lewis Russell, Steve Jewell, Oscar Bennetts, Danny Zalick, Sam Farrant, Richard Maddison and Rikki Allen, who all missed the defeat to Bodmin. Ross Saint's back injury may force him out and Toby Clark is still sidelined with a knee injury.
