Jimbo
Newquay deservedly beat a Looe side, that was physically bigger, by playing great passing football. Newquay nearly took the lead within the first minute when a left foot shot from Lewis Hilton hit the post. Newquay did not have to wait long to open their account when the inspirational Tom Graham ghosted in to score. Looe equalised by capitalising on some hesitant defending and a neat chipped finish. Danny Carne restored Newquay's lead with a great strike from 25 yards. Carne increased the lead when he danced through the Looe defence to side foot home. Carne then became provider for strike partner Dom Roberts when he expertly released the ball to meet Roberts perfectly timed run and cool finish past the keeper. Roberts hit the bar with a great left foot strike just before the interval. 5 minutes after the break Looe conceeded a penalty and up stepped Carne to convert and to complete his hat trick. Looe scored the final goal of the game after some more hesitancy in the Newquay defence. A good result and great performance from the young Peppermints.
